COREY “EBERT” PRESENTS: WARRIOR

     I watch a ton of movies…some would say too many…but thats the life of a cinephile (A person with a passionate interest in cinema according to dictionary.com). So I figured I’d share my thoughts on some of them as they cross my mind. Think of me as Roger Ebert’s attractive adopted son….That being said, in light of my last post, I want to talk about Warrior. 

    First and foremost, this movie probably won’t win the Oscar for Best Picture (That’ll probably go to Rise of the Planet of the Apes) but it should be a close second. NO THERE’S NO CRAZY TWISTS AND TURNS IN THIS MOVIE. We all know from the beginning the brothers are gonna fight each other in the end. However, there’s a surprising amount of emotional depth behind the crazy fight scenes. This is my favorite movie of the year, even though Rise of the Planet of the Apes is arguably the better movie…

Prediction: The Academy Award for Best Actor goes to…TOM HARDY in Warrior
